House 27 EntranceThe rheumatology outpatient department is the first point of contact for most of our patients. Patients with a suspected inflammatory joint disease or systemic autoimmune diseases are examined here and, if required, also cared for in the longer term in close collaboration with their colleagues. In addition, the ambulance takes over the follow-up after inpatient stays on our station MK3-S3.

The first examination usually takes place on the basis of an assignment by your family doctor, rheumatologist, internist, or orthopedic surgeon or on assignment by another outpatient department of the University Hospital. Our ambulance control center (telephone (0351) 458/3463, fax (0351) 458/5797) awards appointments by telephone. In general, it makes sense that the referring physician has already carried out a number of important examinations: Checklist Preliminary Examinations. In exceptional cases, especially in the case of problems that have first appeared within the last few days or weeks, an appraisal is also possible without previous findings. In any case, please bring with you all the available findings and x-rays, as well as a list of the medications you regularly take and any existing allergy certificate.

Patients who are regularly cared for in our outpatient clinic will also receive follow-up appointments from the outpatient clinic. Even outside of these appointments, a short-term control or a telephone consultation are possible in the event of unexpected symptoms of illness or deterioration.

We are aware that your time is precious and we strive to meet the deadlines. However, we ask for your understanding that we often can not foresee time-consuming investigations and lengthy information discussions, which can lead to delays in individual cases. We ask you to appear on time for your appointments and to call off appointments that you can not take.

In order to ensure the optimal orthopedic-surgical care of our rheumatism patients, regular rheumatoid orthopedic consultations are held in our outpatient clinic. Ms. OÄ Dr. I. Panzner from the Clinic for Orthopedics on the first Thursday of each month in our ambulance.
